Even though it was just an arraignment the prosecution outlined the majority of their case. First off, they believe Aaron Hernandez was the mastermind behind the murder of Odin Lloyd.
According to the prosecution Hernandez had a personal relationship with Lloyd that went bad. They say a disagreement over Lloyd speaking to some people at a club, that Hernandez didn’t like was the motive for the murder.
Through text messages, cell phone towers triangulation and surveillance video the prosecution says that Hernandez along with two accomplices executed Lloyd.
They say they have video of Hernandez and his crew going into the murder scene and coming out of the murder scene. They say they have video of Hernandez and crew in possession of the murder weapons. The murder weapon hasn’t been found. The rental car that Hernandez paid for has shell cases that matched the shell casings found at the murder scene. They say tire impressions left at the scene match the rental car.
Lloyd was shot at close range with a semi-automatic pistol multiple times. Lloyd text his mother late that evening alerting her that he was with Hernandez.
Hernandez’s lawyer said the case against his client was circumstantial at best, but that didn’t stop the judge from denying Hernandez’s bail.
If you believe the prosecution Hernandez orchestrated, plotted and carried out the murder of his friend and then tried to cover it up by destroying evidence and influencing potential witnesses.
He has been charged with 1st degree murder and five additional gun related charges.
It is innocent until proven guilty, but things aren’t looking too good for Hernandez at this point.
