Things have been quiet on the Andrew Bynum front for a few weeks now, but free agency set to begin, Bynum has reappeared, and wants everyone to know he’s healthy.
Bynum has completed his rehabilitation from season-ending knee surgery and is set to resume basketball workouts next week.
His agent, David Lee, told The Associated Press on Monday night there’s “not a concern in the world” that Bynum will be ready for training camp.
Lee said that he’s had no conversation with the 76ers, and that Bynum would resume a hard workout regiment next week in Atlanta, instead of waiting until August.
“Philly will do what Philly does. I can’t control it,” Lee said. “Next week, I have a feeling I’ll be meeting with a couple of teams.”
Lee was not impressed by comments from 76ers GM Sam Hinkie who basically compared Bynum to every other guy walking around America who just might be able to play basketball.
“I read that Sam considers Andrew one of 3,000 players trying to make it into the NBA,” Lee said. “I assume Sam’s going to lunch with 3,000 people.”
The 76ers along with a handful of other teams will need to do their due diligence, and truly figure out if Bynum is worth any deal, let alone a max deal.
