Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy received a ton of scrutiny on Monday when a photo of him catching a pass, while looking extremely chubby surfaced on the web.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy came to Lacy’s rescue on Tuesday, and told reporters “that photos are deceiving, and that Lacy is in good enough shape to do what the Packers need him to do.”
“Going through the conditioning test, he was fine. If we had any concern about any guys they wouldn’t be on the field,” McCarthy said, via Jason Wilde of ESPNWisconsin.com.
Lacy is hovering around the 240 mark, but all indications from Packers camp is that he looks good, and is running with force.
