This Saturday Dabo Swinney and his Clemson Tigers will host the Georgia Bulldogs. Although sure to be a good game, Swinney can’t help but what think what could’ve been if Georgia’s talented running back duo of Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall, which Clemson heavily recruited also, had decided to play for the Tigers.

“I really love both of those guys and I thought we had them both,” Swinney said.
“Marshall, he broke our heart,” Swinney said. “I think when he went to bed that night (before announcing his decision), he thought he was coming to Clemson. He must’ve had a bad dream or something.”
Swinney saw the writing on the wall with Gurley. On the day of Gurley’s announcement, Swinney was on the phone with Georgia coach Mark Richt, who was casually working out on a treadmill.
“I kind of knew right then he wasn’t too worried,” Swinney said. “He’s on the treadmill and he’s talking to me. I starting thinking we’re not getting Gurley, then I started thinking ‘How in the world did they get these two great backs?’ ”
“They’re gonna be a handful Saturday night,” Swinney said.
Clemson will certainly have their work cut out for them with the sophomores who ran for 2,144 yards and 25 touchdowns last season, but don’t feel bad for Clemson they have a pretty nice offensive threat in quarterback Tajh Boyd. I’m definitely looking forward to this battle in Death Valley.
