USC AD Pat Haden has been quietly going about his coaching search since firing Lane Kiffin at the airport. The first name that we have heard he reached out to though, has turned him down. Tony Dungy said this morning that he turned them down this week.
Tony Dungy told us that USC reps contacted him about the head coaching job this week. He said no. @dpshow

In my mind, guys like Dungy are exactly what USC doesn’t need. They pretty much need the opposite, a younger energetic coach. Not older NFL guys like Dungy, Jack Del Rio, or Jeff Fisher. This USC search will be interesting though if this is where it’s starting.
