The young Cats made a great comeback in the second half, but fell short at the hands of Sparty. John Calipari stated before the game how unfair it was to face such an experienced team this early.
Despite the inexperience, it was evident Kentucky felt they should have won. All I needed to know was what Calipari said in the postgame.
“We had guys crying in there, which is a good thing,” Calipari said after the game. “That was Michael Kidd-Gilchrist after Indiana last year. So you had kids crying in there, and I want it to hurt like that. I knew this would get their attention in the first half.”
This Kentucky team will be a major problem come March.
