Tennessee Titans were forced to bench Justin Hunter and Damian Williams in yesterday’s matchup against the Cardinals for violating team rules according to NBC Sports. Although the team didn’t specify what Hunter and Williams did to warrant the benching, head coach Mike Munchak spoke to the media to address the issue.
“They broke some team rules. So the consequence was that they didn’t suit up today. I am not going to talk about what they did. It is just something we had to deal with today. You want to have your guys. We were only going to suit up four [wide receivers] anyway. The numbers weren’t a problem. It was just a matter of obviously you want everyone up and going. It was very unfortunate and very disappointing. So we move on from there.”
Hunter had been a consistent offensive force for the team lately, racking up at least 100 yards in two of the last three Titans games. Kenny Britt was back on the field for the team, and the team did score 34 points. However, it was a losing battle, since the defense allowed the Cardinals to score 37 points. It’s been a disappointing season for the Titans, so expect some major changes in the offseason to get the team back on track.
