We are getting ready for the excitement of the opening round of the NFL Playoffs. Not all the fan bases are that excited to buy tickets for the games though. According to a report:
11,000 tickets remained for the 49ers-Packers game at Lambeau Field on Sunday, while the Colts had 5,700 tickets remaining for their game with the Chiefs on Saturday. The Bengals (no stranger to the whole blackout phenomenon) had just under 10,000 tickets left for sale on Tuesday afternoon for their tilt on Sunday with the Chargers.
Listen, there is supposed to be a high of 0 degrees on Sunday in Green Bay so I don’t blame them. Eventually the NFL will need to do something about this blackout rule. It really shouldn’t even be an option anymore to blackout games locally, especially playoff games due to not selling out. The last time this happened was 2001 for a Dolphins-Ravens game in Miami.
I assume things will get a bit hostile is Green Bay if people can’t watch the game there especially. I expect the tickets to magically get sold.
