When we reported that A-Rod was suing everyone, we weren’t exaggerating.
News broke Monday that along with A-Rod proceeding in his plans to file suit against MLB he is also suing the Player’s Association.
In the process, A-Rod and his legal team took a rather loathsome approach and took to criticizing deceased MLBPA director Michael Weiner, who passed away in November of 2013 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
Current MLBPA Diretor Tony Clark has fired back at A-Rod:
“It is unfortunate that Alex Rodriguez has chosen to sue the Players Association. His claim is completely without merit, and we will aggressively defend ourselves and our members from these baseless charges. “The Players Association has vigorously defended Mr. Rodriguez’s rights throughout the Biogenesis investigation, and indeed throughout his career. Mr. Rodriguez’s allegation that the Association has failed to fairly represent him is outrageous, and his gratuitous attacks on our former executive director, Michael Weiner, are inexcusable. When all is said and done, I am confident the Players Association will prevail.”
If Alex Rodriguez had few friends on his side to begin with, odds are that number is now hovering around zero. The move was a low one, and one of the uglier sides of this lengthy soap opera.
