Is Giants free agent wide receiver Hakeem Nicks ready to bet and gamble on himself with a one year deal?
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Nicks is letting teams know that he’s healthy, and prepared to bet on himself with a one year deal to prove his still a top level receiver.
• Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is doing everything possible to prove that he is healthy, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. Nicks is circulating medical assurances to show teams that his foot and knee aren’t problems that will affect his production moving forward.
This is important. Multiple league sources at the Senior Bowl earlier this year thought Nicks’ health was his biggest concern. Nicks, as has been well-documented, is coming off a touchdown-less season.
Mortensen also throws in as the final line of his story that Nicks “is willing to weigh a one-year contract to prove his past two seasons were aberrations, league sources said.”
His chances of returning to the Giants still likely remain “close to zero.”
