Kentucky point guard Andrew Harrison hyperextend his elbow late against Kansas State on Friday, and now his status for Sunday’s game is in doubt according to the Courier-Journal.

“It’s pretty sore. It’s day by day. Hopefully I can go tomorrow,” Harrison told reporters, according to the Courier-Journal. “We have so much talent on this team. It’s not just me. People can take my spot.”

Cats coach John Calipari didn’t exactly ease concerns for Kentucky fans. Asked if it’s possible his point guard won’t play:

“Sure. What if he’s 70 percent and I see it?” Calipari said, noting that if that was the case, Harrison might do more harm than good. “But we’ve got time. We’ll see. If he can play, he’ll play. We’ll prepare today as though he’s not.”

Harrison had seven points and five assists in the Round of 64 win over Kansas State.  If he can’t go, twin brother Aaron would assume point guard duties.
