Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins has had quite the start to his 2014 MLB season, so I’m sure last night was his reaction to everything that’s gone on.
Rollins hit a solo home run over the left field wall to give the Phillies a 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins at Citizens Bank Park in the top of the 10th inning.
Rollins knew it was gone the moment he hit it, and stoically turned his attention to a heckling fan that had been bothering him all night. The mercurial shortstop pulled no punches and admitted that he told the fan to “shut the f*ck up.”
Rollins repeatedly declined to say exactly what the fan said to him, only that it was “something pretty ignorant” and “a dumb comment.”
