Sometimes an apology just isn’t enough. That seems to be the case for Jahmel Binion who got made fun of by Shaq on social media. That problem is that after Shaq clowned him, he was told that the guy has a rare disorder hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, that causes a reduced ability to sweat, sparse hair growth, missing teeth and facial deformities.
Shaq then called the guy and apologized. It turns out that isn’t enough for Binion who is suing Shaq, Waka Flocka Flame, and Jazz guard Trey Burke for defamation because he says 8.4 million people saw the insults. From the Macomb Daily:
“The defendants mocked and ridiculed the plaintiff, a person completely unknown to themselves in public forums where their activity would be widely disseminated,” the lawsuit says. “The defendants’ communications clearly implied that the plaintiff was an appropriate object of mockery, ridicule and shame” and “had the effect of lowering the plaintiff’s reputation in the eyes of those who respected the views and opinion of the defendants.”
The amount he is suing for is unknown but it is more than $25K. Binion believes they only said sorry to stop people from thinking that they were bad people.
