This is pretty cool. Boston College is revealing some new uniforms in memory of former lacrosse player Welles Crowther who died on 9/11 inside of the World Trade Center.

Welles is credited with saving at least a dozen people after he helped them escape from the tower before its collapse, and he lost his own life during the collapse. Welles was wearing a red bandanna and has been celebrated as “The Man in the Red Bandanna” since, with his friends, family and teammates hold an annual “Welles Remy Crowther 5k Red Bandana Run” to support a charitable foundation formed in his name.

Crowther’s family will be in attendance for the game, and the school will hand out 6,000 red bandannas to the student section to be worn during the game.

Boston College players will wear shoes, socks, gloves and helmets with the red bandanna pattern and trim.
