Earlier today, word broke that Vince Young was being sued by Triton Financial for taking out a $700,000 loan and never paying it back. Now, Young is speaking out to clear his name. According to TMZ Sports, the former first-round pick claims it was a crooked accountant who signed in his name who took out the loan, and that he never saw a penny of it.
But Vince tells TMZ Sports … he’s the “real victim” of a scheme concocted by his former financial advisor Ron Peoples.
“He was doing things without my approval — getting big loans out,” Vince says … “He never had my authority.”
Vince notes that when the loan was taken out, he was still on the Tennessee Titans and rollin’ in NFL dough — “Why do I need the loan? I’m out playing ball, making money at the time.”
Sounds like this situation is going to get a bit messier for Young and Co. If the QB is telling the truth, it’s sad to see a player get taken advantage of in such a way by someone he trusted.
