Johnny Manziel understands the position Georgia running back Todd Gurley is in after being suspended for receiving payment for his likeness.
Manziel sent out a “free Gurley” tweet earlier and then clarified his support by explaining that Gurley has built a brand that he should be able to capitalize off of.”

Manziel, of course, received a half-game suspension following allegations that he profited from signing memorabilia between his freshman and sophomore seasons at Texas A&M.
According to a Friday report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there are differences between the Manziel case and the Gurley case that could spell a longer suspension for the Bulldogs’ star.
