Usually one of an NFL player’s highlights, or at least distractions of going to the Super Bowl involves family getting to make the trip and represent in whatever city is playing host. However, this is not the case for one Julian Edelman.
The New England Patriots receiver doesn’t make any bones about it. DO NOT contact him about tickets to the big game, the answer will undoubtedly be no. In a recent interview with CSN New England’s Phil Perry, Edelman made it clear he wouldn’t be dealing with any distractions while prepping for the Super Bowl…including worrying about making sure family & friends attend the game:
“I’m a pretty big a-hole to all my friends and family,” Edelman told Perry. “They know that. When it’s football time, it’s football time. I think you want to make the process as familiar as possible to what you’re used to by going out and preparing like you try to do every day,” Edelman said, via Perry. “Going in the hot tub, the cold tub, getting your treatment every day. It’s gonna be a little different. Usually the team that can handle that stuff the best is usually the team that comes out with a win.”
Edelman is clearly focused, so anyone trying to mooch some tickets to party in Arizona, on his hard work this season; is just going to have to figure out another way to get to the party.
