Jeremy Maclin took an $11 million a season off from Andy Reid, and ran back to his home state of Missouri, to play for the Chiefs.
That doesn’t mean Maclin doesn’t hold a warm spot in his heart for Eagles head coach Chip Kelly. Kelly has completely transformed the Eagles roster in just under two weeks — with fans and pundits questioning his expertise.
During a Friday morninng radio appearance, Maclin said fans need to relax and let Chip Kelly build his team.
“Let Chip do what he needs to do,” said Jeremy Maclin who appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Friday. “I think [Kelly] needs to stop taking hear for it.”
Maclin discussed his relationship with Kelly and said he made the decision to head to Kansas City.
“I respect Chip,” Maclin said of his former coach. “I think he’s going to do great in Philadelphia.”
“This was kind of a decision that I made,” Maclin said of leaving for the Chiefs. “Those other two guys are in a different situation.”
