Alvin Gentry wants another shot at being a head coach, and New Orleans could come calling.
Gentry interviewed with the Pelicans on Monday, and he believes he’s the guy to lead Anthony Davis and New Orleans into the upper echelon of the Western Conference.
”He’s more than interested,’
‘ the source said Thursday morning. ”He really believes that this is a job that would certainly define him as a coach because of the opportunity that it creates.
”Certainly this is one of those jobs that you feel is probably as good as any job available right now, no question. Even if there were no other jobs, it would still be the best.”
With Davis in the fold, the New Orleans gig is a prime landing spot. Playing in the Western Conference could make it difficult to accomplish anything more than constant trips to the playoffs.
