The Oakland Raiders have released James Jones, a wide-receiver they signed in 2014 from the Packers. In 2014, Jones had 73 catches for 666 yards and 6 touchdowns, with a 43 yard catch being his longest.
The Raiders selected Alabama WR Amari Cooper in the 1st round, so they saw Jones as expendable. Cutting Jones saves the Raiders $3.5 million in cap space.
