It’s not too often you will find an elite high school quarterback looking for a place to play heading into the summer before his senior season.
Malik Henry is one of the top quarterback recruits in the country and is already committed to Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles, but now he is looking for a new home after being dismissed from IMG Academy.
Here is the statement from IMG Academy:
“We have made a decision and Malik Henry will not be returning to IMG Academy next year. Malik is a very talented athlete and we wish him the very best in his future.” – Head Coach Kevin Wright
It’s unclear where Henry will finish his high school career. We’ll update this story as we receive more information.
Henry is a five-star prospect, the No.3 ranked pro-style QB and the 24th best player overall.
This is a very weird situation given how talented Henry is. You don’t just up and kick off a player of this caliber with have a pretty legitimate reason.
Hopefully the issue is more or less about the maturity of Henry, rather than something more serious such as substance abuse.
