Diddy is just like a lot of overprotective sports dads.
Except that he says “Take that” a lot. Here are the details.
Diddy has been arrested for allegedly getting into a fight with a football coach at UCLA … where his son is on the team, TMZ Sports has learned.
We’re told Campus Police took the music mogul into custody early Monday afternoon. Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back on the team. We’re told the fight went down at the UCLA athletic facility.
One source says an assistant coach was screaming at Justin on the field. At some point later we’re told Diddy confronted the coach and grabbed him. Diddy was arrested for assault.
Diddy is still being held in the campus jail and will be transferred to LA County Jail this evening. Diddy was in the stands watching the coach yell at his son, before confronting him in his office.
Diddy according to the police has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon since he came after the coach with a kettlebell weight (photo of what one of those looks like below).

One of the interesting things about coaching the son of a superstar is they probably haven’t had a lot of discipline in their life. I am sure not many people have ever yelled at Justin Combs about anything because they didn’t want to get on Diddy’s bad side, so he probably didn’t know how to respond to it. Diddy though has to handle the situation more intelligently. People probably already assume his kid gets special treatment, so trying to beat up the coach for yelling at him when the coach probably yells at everyone isn’t going to help the situation.
Diddy punched Drake a little while back (they have made up), seems to have a lot of anger at the moment. Maybe mid-life crisis.
Jim Mora Jr. made this statement.
“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”
