In one of the more surprising picks of the first round, the Los Angeles Lakers took Larry Nance Jr. with the 27th overall pick. The pick was incredibly surprising with more highly touted prospects like R.J. Hunter and Kevon Looney on the board, but the Lakers like the small forwards athleticism and took a gamble on Nance.
Nance averaged 16 points per game for Wyoming this past season, and brings some great athleticism to a Lakers team in desperate need of that on the wing. It will be interesting to see if Nance becomes a role player for the Lakers any time soon.
