No this isn’t Urban Meyer, unless Urban Meyer is like Dexter and cutting people’s throat in parking lots.
Police have arrested a man accused of cutting a woman’s throat in a South Austin H-E-B parking lot last month.
Around 1:30 a.m. on May 20, a woman was walking to her car with groceries at the H-E-B near South Congress and Oltorf when 49-year-old Edward Roy Bennett slashed her throat and stole her purse, police said. The woman was rushed to University Medical Center Brackenridge.
According to police, Bennett ran away toward the employee parking lot, and police later found the woman’s purse near a storage container on a nearby property.
The woman survived thankfully and Mr. Bennett is being held on a $1 million attempted capital murder bond.
