I find this hard to believe, but you never know with the mellow, and subdued Kobe Bryant.
Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, is reporting that Bryant took time out, to place a phone call to DeAndre Jordan, pitching the Lakers to the free agent big man.
Jordan’s first meeting will be on Wednesday with the Dallas Mavericks at the Beverly Hills offices of his representative, Relativity Sports, said NBA officials who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
Jordan will meet with the Lakers and then the New York Knicks later in the day, the official said.
The Clippers, who will have Coach Doc Rivers, owner Steve Ballmer and a video presentation, will be the last team to meet with Jordan on Thursday, the officials said.
Jordan has gotten a call from Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, the officials said. Bryant wanted Jordan to know the Lakers are interested.
I mean it’s an easy pitch for Bryant.
He probably focused on the success of Lakers centers over the years, or the opportunities that come with being apart of the ‘brand’ that is the L.A. Lakers.
And most importantly, the opportunity to be at least second fiddle on a Lakers team desperate for some inside presence.
I still think it’ll be the Mavs or Clippers in the end, but you never know.
