Aaron Hernandez’s defense team has tried to get his guilty verdict overturned based on the fact a “tip” came in that one of the jurors had something personal against Hernandez and didn’t disclose all of that information before trial.
In a shocking twist, the tipster was actually Hernandez’s mistress.
Check out these crazy details via Boston Herald.
The anonymous tipster who called an Aaron Hernandez defense attorney and raised questions about a member of the jury who convicted his client of murder was having a “sexually explicit relationship” with the former tight end “prior to and during the trial,” according to prosecutors.
“(T)he Commonwealth has also learned that ‘Katy’ hasn’t simply been in personal contact with the defendant,” prosecutors wrote today. “She had an ongoing sexually explicit relationship with the defendant prior to and during the trial.”
“This relationship includes letters ‘Katy’ sent to the defendant that were subsequently destroyed by the defendant,” McCauley wrote. “In addition to the ongoing relationship between ‘Katy’ and the defendant, the defendant had a relationship with ‘Katy’s’ father while there were inmates together at the Dartmouth House of Corrections.”
The defense still wants “Katy” to take the stand, but prosecutors want the motion denied based on the fact they believe this is an elaborate plot by Hernandez just to try to get out of jail.
This is more complicated than True Detective.
