Everything that is wrong in our society can be summed up in this story.
A bully is beating up a blind kid. This isn’t a Netflix series, blind people aren’t Daredevil, hard to fight back when you can’t see.
The bully is punching the blind kid in the face when another student knocks out the bully. You would think the school would give him an award or something, but nope, they suspended the hero.
The third person in the fight, the boy many are calling a hero. The boy who told the bully, “You trying to jump a f*cking blind kid, bro? What the f*ck is your problem?” Yeah, that kid. Well, the school has a no-violence policy (what school doesn’t?) and suspended him from the football team. Because, you know, rules are made in a vacuum and individual cases be damned. Naturally, someone started a petition to get this hero back on the football team.
The bully was arrested at least, but still the guy who saved the day should be back at school ASAP, he did NOTHING WRONG.
I’d hope someone would do the same for my kid in a similar situation.
