Marshall Faulk’s name instantly comes to mind when I think of the greatest running back of my time. He was a do it all runningback with no weakness. He finished his career with 12,279 rushing yards (100 touchdowns) and 6,875 receiving yards (36 touchdowns). Faulk played a major role in what is now known as the “Greatest Show on Turf” while with the St. Louis Rams. Hall-of-Fame players don’t often compare current players to themselves but who does Faulk this is most like him?
“Le’Veon Bell does a great job at playing the game through my eyes and the way I played the game,” said Marshall Faulk. He’s dynamic in the the running game and the passing game. And probably the best thing about him is that he doesn’t turn done the opportunity to take on a linebacker and help his quarterback make a play.”
Le’Veon Bell is entering his 3rd season in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers and really made a name for himself last year with his 299 carries for 1,361 yards and 84 receptions for 854 yards. Both are very impressive number for Bell that the Steelers will be without for the first two games of the season due to suspension. It will be interesting to see how the Steelers fair without Bell.
