The judge won’t sign off on Brittney Griner’s divorce until she can prove one way or the other she isn’t the legal father of Glory Johnson’s twins.
Johnson says she has everything in writing showing that Griner agreed to be the father. She says medical records will prove that it was Griner who approved her getting inseminated at the fertility clinic.
Griner acknowledges all of this, but there is a twist on why Griner doesn’t want to pay child support.
Griner has a strong suspicion the sperm came from Glory’s ex-BF, and if that’s the case she shouldn’t have to pay Glory any support.
That’s why Griner wants to get to the bottom of things by pursuing Glory’s medical records.
So in short, if the sperm wasn’t the agreed upon sperm, Griner doesn’t want to pay any child support. If the medical records show that it was sperm from a donor that Griner herself had picked out (white male, blue eyes, not the black guy who Johnson was dating) then she will pay.
The reason Griner is referred to as the “father or dad” is because that is how she referred to herself according to Johnson.
The couple decided to buy a house and have kids, so they chose a sperm donor – a blond, blue-eyed man whom Glory says Brittney hand-picked – and found a doctor in Phoenix, who then started Glory on IVF.
The two went to appointments together, and Glory has a video on her phone of Brittney referring to herself as ‘dad’ to their future kids.
Griner wants the sperm she decided on and only then will she take responsibility of being the legal father of the twins. Meaning if the twins aren’t bi-racial, she doesn’t want to pay.
When the records are released the judge will have a ruling.
