It feels like centuries since the New York Knicks had an all-star caliber point guard.
Sure, the Knicks have drastically improved since last year, which isn’t saying much, but it’s improvement nonetheless.
However, in order for the Knicks to reach the next level, they’ll need someone better than Jose Calderon running the show.
ESPN reported Wednesday the Knicks were one of the teams that have talked to Atlanta about the All-Star guard. It isn’t clear just how serious New York’s interest is or if any other point guards might be on its radar.
Obtaining former all-star Jeff Teague would definitely be a welcomed sign for Knicks fans, but one must wonder, who would the Knicks give up?
Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis are clearly unavailable, which leaves the Knicks with less than stellar trade pieces.
Arron Afflalo?
Robin Lopez?
Derrick Williams?
Langston Galloway?
None of those names would be appealing to me if I were the Atlanta Hawks general manager, but maybe that’s why I’m not a general manager.
