If you are trying to convince a judge you are in dire financial straits to the point you can’t pay your debts, it would probably be wise not to show off a bunch of money on Instagram.
50 Cent is learning that the hard way.
According the Wall Street Journal, the judge intimated that the pictures suggest that 50 Cent — whose legal name is Curtis Jackson — had been hiding assets from the court to avoid paying the legal settlements.
“I’m concerned about allegations of nondisclosure and a lack of transparency in the case,” Judge Nevins said at a hearing Thursday, according to the Journal. “There’s a purpose of having a bankruptcy process be transparent, and part of that purpose is to inspire confidence in the process.”
50 is going to have to come back to court to explain himself.
