Details on LeBron Giving Ben Simmons’ Sister a Job So He’d Sign with Agency

Ben Simmons LeBron Agency

LeBron is arguably the smartest business man the NBA has ever seen. He’s set himself up for longterm success in the corporate world and it’s through moves like the Ben Simmons’ deal that he will remain on top.

LSU freshman star Ben Simmons, a possible No. 1 overall NBA draft pick, plans to sign with the LeBron James-funded Klutch Sports agency for his pro representation, league sources told The Vertical.

If you read just that statement it’d seem like normal business and LeBron just happened to land the most talented CBB player as a client.

Then you dig deeper into the details and find out that LeBron has had a hand in Ben Simmons’ handling for years now and that he had put things in place to represent Simmons starting when he was 16.

Simmons’ older sister, Emily Bush, has been a marketing/branding employee of Klutch since 2014. She is based in Scottsdale, Ariz. Her hiring came shortly after James and Paul started recruiting Simmons as a potential future client.

Within the basketball industry, it has been understood that Klutch has been the only real pro representation that Simmons has considered. Simmons, a native of Australia, has been the subject of a serious courtship by James, Paul and Klutch Sports since attending the LeBron James Skills Academy in 2014.

The arrangement for Klutch to represent Simmons has been in place for over a year, and agency papers to formalize the partnership are expected to be signed soon, sources said. Simmons will train in either Cleveland or Los Angeles in the predraft process, league sources said.

These sort of practices are discouraged by the NBA, and the NCAA to a larger degree, but LeBron’s brand is bigger than just the game of basketball. If Simmons becomes  a superstar then it’ll open up the door for LeBron, not the NBA, to become the leader in finding world-wide talent.

Imagine a system where LeBron finds kids at 15 years-old, places them in the college of his choosing (highest bidder) and then has his PR team build them into phenoms…

Amazing, right?

That is where sports are headed and Ben Simmons is just the test run for it.
