The long rumored, and highly anticipated duet album from 90’s hip hop power couple Faith Evans, and the late Christopher Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. looks like it will be released this fall. The project, titled The King and I is in the “finishing stages” according to Evans. The R&B diva, recently appearing on the Dame Dash Radio Show said:
If he was alive, I know we would’ve done something like this, but the way it’s coming together – the way I’m using his vocals, it’s just giving his stuff new life. I think people are gonna really enjoy it.
According to Evans there will be a music video for the first single complete with a Biggie hologram.
For longtime fans of the slain Brooklyn rapper and his widow, this project brings up memories, both happy and sad. Biggie was like a shooting star in the rap game, one day he was here, and the next gone. We never got to experience the full arc of this gifted and complex individual. I for one, can’t wait to get this new album.
