NFL contracts are never what they seem.
Even if you are the star player you will likely renegotiate at some point just like Flacco did. He helps the team and will get more money in his pocket immediately.
Would expect Flacco's 3 yr ext. (now thur 2021) to create $6-12M in Cap space for 2016. Hoping for a more flat, non-backloaded structure!

W/ 3 add'l yrs, Flacco is likely looking at a bonus from $25-30M, w/ $1-4M base salary. If so, new '16 Cap # would be between $16.55M-20.55M

Flacco's old deal was $120.6M, with $20.1M/yr & $58.6M remaining over next 3 yr. Would expect new total & new money avg. to exceed those #'s

Flacco will likely end his career now with the Ravens.
