Accuser Says Baylor Ignored Allegations; Provides Photos To Police

Dolores Lozano

The turmoil surrounding Baylor continues to grow. Another alleged victim, Dolores Lozano says she was assaulted by former football player Devin Chafin and the head coach at the time Art Briles knew about it.

Dolores Lozano told ESPN’s Joe Schad that Chafin assaulted her three times and multiple coaches, including former head coach Art Briles and current passing game coordinator/running backs coach Jeff Lebby and multiple other Baylor employees, had knowledge, but did not take sufficient action.

According to a statement of facts prepared by Lozano’s attorneys presented to Joe Schad the incidents occurred in March and April of 2014. Lozano stated that Chafin “slapped,” “kicked,” “slammed Lozano against the wall,” and “choked her until she lost feeling in her body. She alleges that Chafin “slammed” her against a vehicle, “forcibly and aggressively grabbed” her and “slammed” her “to the ground.”

Lozano reported the incidents to Waco police and provided photos which are above.

Devin Chafin has denied those claims and said Art Briles never discussed this with him.

Sporting News reported that Devin Chafin was dismissed from the team last week after he got arrested for marijuana possession. He was arrested on for the same thing 3 times in 2014.

This is a continuous trend at Baylor. Victims are reporting their assault and nothing is being done.

Baylor has fired Art Briles and other members of the football staff including Colin Shillinglaw and Tom Hill.

Then school President, Ken Starr got his foot stuck in his mouth in an interview last week when a reporter asked if he has seen any emails from victims saying they were assaulted. Watch the video and you will see Ken Starr get so tongue tied.

Campuses aren’t safe and the latest outrage coming from Stanford, shows that it is indeed happening everywhere, in case anybody needed further clarification.

Sports are just sports. Let’s start treating victims with humanity instead of threats to your Big 12 or Big 10 or Sec Championships.

If you see something, please do something.
