Last week in Manhattan a man developed a plan to steal iPhones from Apple, and for the moment it has worked. The man dressed as an Apple Store employee walked into the stores electronics repair room, and came away with 19 iPhones. The phones came out to be worth more than $16,000.
According to the New York Police Department the thief had an accomplice to help him get away the phones. The man grabbed the iPhones from a drawer in the repair room, and then passed them off to his partner in crime who hid them under his shirt. After the phones were handed off the duo walked out the store, and so far they have got away squeaky clean.
This took place around 5:30 P.M. last Wednesday at Apple’s SoHo location. In the past two employees were arrested for stealing 332 iPhones from Apple. It looks like Apple needs to find a better way of keeping up with their employees to prevent this from happening.
