The Baltimore Ravens would like you to believe that they parted ways with left tackle Eugene Monroe because there was a ton of interest in him from other teams.
After trade talks with Giants fell through, Ravens released OT Eugene Monroe, per sources. Now free agent. NYG, SD, SEA could have interest.

Monroe is still a talented left tackle — but the Ravens selected Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley with the No. 6 overall pick in April’s NFL draft.
Prior to being released — Monroe had already seen the wheels turning after dropping these tweets last week.
@Ravens continue to distance themselves from me and my cause. I invite you all to do some research. I won't stop. This is for my brothers

This is for the players that make up the team. This is for the players the fans love. Our families. Our future health and wellness.

I don't say these things to slander the @NFL or my team. I say them because we need a solution. We need change in our health care.

The Ravens had been seeking to trade Monroe, who is currently loudly advocating for the NFL to remove medical marijuana from its list of banned substances.
For the Ravens, Monroe’s production didn’t match the five years, $37.5 million deal he signed with the team in 2014.
Add into the equation — Monroe’s missed 15 games over the last-two seasons while grading out poorly according to Pro Football Focus.
