The water cooler talk surrounding Ariel Helwani’s lifetime ban from UFC continues to be a hot topic in the sporting world this afternoon.
During an interview with Dan Patrick Monday morning, Helwani implies that the ban wasn’t really Dana White’s idea but driven more by UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta.
“I don’t know if he [Dana White] wanted to ban me necessarily, again maybe that’s me just dreaming but he did say on multiple times that this was Lorenzo’s [Fertitta] decision. That Lorenzo was not a fan of mine and that, again, I’m too negative that he hates me and that I’m done. And he said ‘your finished, and your never going to cover this organization again’.”
Whether the ban will remain in effect for Helwani’s lifetime remains to be scene but as of now, he won’t be attending a UFC in an official capacity anytime in the foreseeable future.
