For the past three seasons, the New York Knicks have been at home watching the NBA playoffs.
However, Phil Jackson believes they can end the drought next year.
“Why not?” Jackson said. “I don’t know what’s so great about what’s out here in the East. We can fill that role.”
Jackson makes a valid point because outside of Cleveland, Toronto, Miami, Boston and Atlanta, no one else in the east seems to be a ‘lock’ to make the postseason next year,
When asked if it’s realistic for New York to make the postseason, the ‘Zen Master’ had this to say.
“I think so. I think we’re getting experience. Kristaps [Porzingis] is still a young player; he may need another year of experience,” Jackson said. “But we have some experienced guys who can play.”
In order to make this happen, New York needs to desperately upgrade at the point guard spot and getting another big man wouldn’t hurt either.
