Details on Bills Signing Tyrod Taylor to Long Term Extension

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor has just gone from perennial backup to franchise QB in the matter of just a little of a season.

Multiple sources are reporting Taylor inked a six-year extension, paying him around $90M-$100M.

While it’s great to see Taylor get somewhat rewarded for a pretty good season, we all know how shady NFL contracts can be.

Others are reporting the deal is loaded with team-friendly incentives:

Tyrod is in-essance giving the team most of the leverage here. He could have bet on himself, refused to sign the extension until after the year or mid-season; and if he played well enough, could’ve signed for much more money.

That’s easy to say, but with the nature of the NFL, combined with making such little money among starting QBs, $15M a year is hard to walk away from when it’s being dangled in your face.
