Hope Solo is not a good person.
Even if you dismiss her domestic violence history, alcohol problems and violent temper, she is still a pretty bad person and on top of that a sore loser.
When the US team lost fair and square in the Olympics she went on a rant calling the Swedish National Team cowards.
For this statement she has been suspended.
“The comments by Hope Solo after the match against Sweden during the 2016 Olympics were unacceptable and do not meet the standard of conduct we require from our National Team players,” said U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati in a statement on Wednesday evening. “Beyond the athletic arena, and beyond the results, the Olympics celebrate and represent the ideals of fair play and respect. We expect all of our representatives to honor those principles, with no exceptions. ”
She has been suspended for six months, but in the grand scheme of things that means nothing because there are no major tournaments in the next six months.
How many chances will Hope Solo get and maybe a better question is if she was a man would she even be allowed back on the team?
