Team USA suffered a major scare tonight against Patty Mills and Australia, but thanks to Carmelo Anthony’s 31-point performance, the Americans were able to escape.
However, despite Melo’s historic output, it was Kyrie Irving’s vintage step back trey that gave Team USA the necessary cushion to cruise to victory in the last minute.
While teammate Draymond Green was ecstatic to see Kyrie seal the deal, it brought back some bad memories for the all-star forward.
