The Buffalo Bills travel to Foxboro to take on the Pats this Sunday. As is customary, the local beat reporters covering each team have a conference call with a player on the opposing team. Standard NFL media procedure. Per Jared Dubin of CBS Sports, during the Buffalo media members’ conference call with Pats WR Julian Edelman, Rex Ryan thought he’d use it as an opportunity to gain some intel. Disguising himself as Walt Patulski of the Buffalo News, Ryan asked if Edelman will be playing qb this weekend?
The Pats are the most secretive team in the NFL. Ryan knew he wasn’t going to get any information, but it was a good for a few laughs from the media room. Edelman probably recognized it was Ryan and responded with a tongue in cheek answer. Saying he would get water for guys on the sideline and do it with a smile on his face if head coach Bill Belichick asked him.
I’ll say this for Rex, he does like to have fun and seems like a down to earth generally good dude. He better make sure he keeps his eye on the ball this season and win. That coaches seat is getting pretty hot up there in Buffalo.
