Adrian Gonzalez and the Dodgers are on a mission to claim the World Series title. However, Gonzalez refused to stay at the Trump hotel with his teammates while in Chicago.
The National League side of this year’s playoffs have been much more exciting than ever. The Dodgers and the Cubs are now going toe to toe as they fight for a chance to win the National League championship. The Dodgers were in town as they visited the Cubs but one aspect of their stay is worth nothing. Adrian Gonzalez, who is of Mexican descent, absolutely refused to stay with the team and although he didn’t want to go into details, you can already guess why he didn’t stay.
“I didn’t stay there,” Gonzalez told the Southern California News Group. “I had my reasons.”
He may have his specific reasons but his following statement doesn’t quite make any sense. It’s clear that this is about politics and once you make this choice, stand by it.
“We’re here to play baseball not talk politics,” Gonzalez said.
The Cubs are heading to Los Angeles to continue this series as Game 3 is set to happen on October 18, 2016.
