Giants star WR Odell Beckham Jr will be rocking two different pairs of cleats tonight as his team plays the Eagles. OBJ is no stranger to adding his flair and panache into the buttoned up conservative NFL uniform rules.
The two distinct pairs of cleats were first reported by ESPN’s Darren Rovell. One pair is for pregame. Grinch themed and will feature the famous Christmas character wearing OBJ’s high school jersey and candy cane bottoms.
The other pair is for during the game featuring drawings of Christmas items, i.e.: stockings, candy canes, gingerbread men. The bottoms of the game cleats have chunks of grass from OBJ’s high school field at Isidore Newman in the bottoms.
The cleats are beautifully designed and look great. But, they do not meet the league’s uniform policy standards. Will the league fine him as they did when he rocked the Sager cleats? Probably, but that’s the No Fun League. It’s the holidays man, lighten up commish.
