What impact will a Trump presidency have on America? How bad could it be and let’s see what happens? These are the things that were said after the shock of the election wore off, but I never bought it. The rise of Nazism and a love of fascism is what we are getting and this is a clear example. Chris Weitz, one of the writers for the upcoming Star Wars Film Star Wars: Rogue One took a shot at white nationalists with this deleted tweet:
“Please note that the Empire is a white supremacist (human) organization.” Gary Whitta, the original writer on the project, responded in kind, tweeting: “Opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women.”
The tweet set off many Neo-Nazi Star Wars fans that proceeded to bash the upcoming film, calling it anti-American liberal propaganda.
Stop using your multiculturalism anti-American agenda in a science fiction Disney movie. We just want to enjoy a fun movie. #DumpStarWars

Wow. So basically a Star Wars Film that celebrates multiculturalism and women’s empowerment is seen as something that is bad by Neo-Nazis? The good news here is that these reactions essentially mean that the makers of Star Wars are doing the right thing.
Looking at the story from the original film from 1977, Star Wars has always been anti-fascist and pro democracy. The empire is the great evil in the universe that deploy storm troopers to eradicate anyone in the galaxy that resists their will. It’s no coincidence that Storm Troopers were named after German Nazi Storm Troopers from WWII, and last year’s Force Awakens was flooded with Nazi-like imagery to represent the new Empire.
But Trump will be in charge soon, and his campaign rhetoric has sanctioned the cries of the Nazi sympathizer and white nationalist. The angry Nazis are emboldened now and even started a #DumpStarWars hashtag on Twitter. Twitter users hit back hard.
Awe, you Trumpets are so cute when you're angry… #DumpStarWars pic.twitter.com/v6qukBLAHq

The fact that Nazis and racists have this much of a voice now should be concerning for all Americans, as the clock is turning back to a time when people were not afraid to hate openly.
