Mary J. Blige is opening up on her on-going divorce proceedings from former manager Kendu Isaacs.
In a sit down interview with Angie Martinez on Power 105.1 in New York, Blige discusses how she and Isaacs arrived at divorce proceedings and why she feels he doesn’t deserve the over $110,000 a month he is requesting in alimony.
“I can sense that I’m not what you want anymore,” said Blige, adding that her husband began to ask her about trivial matters like why she never cooked or why she didn’t style her hair a certain way.
“You start to realize that this man doesn’t want you and he’s just gone all the time and you’re by yourself in the relationship,” said Blige. “When you realize you’re by yourself and you’re just suffering through it, now it’s time to do some investigating.”
“I don’t owe you anything,” said Mary. “It’s not fair, so this is very mean. This is very mean to just keep sitting on this and demanding this type of money and taking me through all this sh*t. I can’t believe you’re trying to stick me up and no disrespect to his family at all, you know, but I’m not responsible for you. I don’t have any children with you. I’m not responsible for anything else with you anymore.”
In the midst of the messy divorce proceedings, Blige is releasing new music. To hear her new single “Love Yourself” featuring Kanye West, flip the page.
