Rondo can’t seem to catch a break, from his recent thumb injury to now begin fined by the NBA.
Rajon Rondo, point guard for the Chicago Bulls is begin fined by the NBA for $25,000 for attempting to trip Jae Crowder.
The incident happened in the first quarter of Game 3, a game the Celtics won, 104-87. Rondo was on the bench and as Crowder ran pass, he casually stuck his leg out but didn’t make contact.
Rondo is who is no stranger to injuries is out because of a thumb injury that happened in Game 2. When asked if he tried to trip Crowder, Rondo blamed a tear in his right ACL that occurred back in Jan. of 2013.
“Nah, when you tear an ACL, your legs get stiff on you every once in awhile. I stretched my leg out. I always do that throughout the game, it just – I guess he was so deep into our bench, it looked like maybe (that) may have happened.”
I don’t think anyone is buying his story, and the video doesn’t quite help his case either.
