Things just got even more bleak for the Boston Celtics.
Star point guard Isaiah Thomas’ already rough postseason just got worse, as the Celtics best player will miss the remainder of the season with a hip injury suffered in Fridays embarrassing game 2 loss.
The Celtics released this statement on the matter.
“Isaiah has worked tirelessly to manage this injury since it first occurred,” said Celtics Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brian McKeon. “The swelling increased during the first two games against Cleveland, and in order to avoid more significant long-term damage to his hip, we could no longer allow him to continue.”
According to reports, Thomas initially injured the hip during the third quarter a game on March 15 game against the Timberwolves.
Thomas further aggravated it during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Wizards.
