If this happened more often it would cut down on the amount of false accusations.
False accusations don’t just hurt the person being accused, but the real victims of rape.
A University of North Georgia student has been charged with false statements after officers say she lied about being raped.
Rebekah Lim called Lumpkin County 911 on May 24 and told them she was running on a trail at the reservoir when she was raped.
During the investigation, surveillance video on the UNG campus was viewed, along with Lim’s phone logs.
Officials said all evidence showed that Lim had falsely reported that she had been raped, and was not at the trail during the time she alleged the crime had occurred.
She is being held without bond, hope she gets a long jail sentence.
